BRENT Peters bemoaned his side's lack of discipline as they conceded an injury time equaliser at his former club Glossop.

But at least the manager could bask in some happy memories as his son Martin, 13 years after dreaming of playing on the Surrey Street when he was a five-year-old and his dad was boss, returned to fulfil his ambitions with a stunning 30-yard strike.

It gave Bacup a 68th minute lead but hesitant defending during Glossop's last attack led to a penalty which was converted to give them a share of the points.

Brent Peters said: "The quality of the goal Martin scored might have surprised a lot of people but not me, as he scored goals like that regularly in youth football.

"It was worthy of winning any match and has we been disciplined in the final minute we would have won. But in the end it felt like a defeat after all our hard work.

"Twice we had chances to clear our lines and failed, and we got punished for it."
