CHILDREN at primary schools have been given a special invite to Helmshore Mill Textile Museum during the half-term holiday, which runs from February 16 to 20.
The museum is not open until the general public until March 28 but keeper Catriona West has arranged for a host of activities for children during the break to relieve boredom.
"We realised that although we cannot open the museum fully to the public before the start of the season, we could make the classroom available for use by the children for the craft work and story-telling," said Catriona.
Next Monday and Tuesday there will be a chance to make a Percy Perch window swinger or a Little Daisy ornament, while on Wednesday through to Friday popular storyteller Heather Mason will be recalling amazing tales in the company of Mu the cat and one or more of her three pet hens.
Participation in any holiday session is free and the activities run from 1pm to 4pm. For more information, call 01706 226459.
