CLUBLAND singers paid tribute to East Lancashire entertainer Bobby Day by performing at a memorial show at Audley Working Men's Club.
Bobby, whose real name was Gary Greenall, died aged 68 in November from cancer. He was nick-named Mr Charity for his numerous performances to raise cash for good causes.
Around 18 artists took turns to entertain at an informal, 'free and easy' night.
It was organised by Fred Waywell, who said: "I'm an old friend of Bobby's and knew him for 25 years. He worked in clubs for 35 years and did tremendous work for charities, hospitals and pensioners over that time."
Other entertainers performing for free included organist Frank Golden and compere Vicky Lee - and the club provided the room free of charge.
Bobby Day's widow, Pat Greenall, of Lindisfarne Road, Blackburn, said: "My husband supported the Blackburn mayors' charity appeals for years. He never refused anybody. He was one-in-a-million.
Proceeds from the show will pay for a plaque to place next to a tree planted in his widow's garden in Bobby's memory.
