PRESTON North End Women's FC are aiming to take their Under 16s team to compete in this year's World Youth Cup.
The competition takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden in July with more than 1,400 boys and girls teams from around the world taking part.
It will be the first time a team from North End will have entered but before they go they need to raise around £6,000 in sponsorship.
The team's coach Peter Cadwaller said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to play football at the highest level and at the same time fulfill a life-time ambition and get North End's name noticed worldwide. While we do have senior teams, a lot of our players tend to stop playing when they reach 17 so it would be a great send-off for them.
"We already have sponsorship from Wholesale Suites, Beds and Carpets based in Walton-le-Dale and we now are looking for more organisations to support us."
The club, which has four junior teams and two senior sides which compete in regional leagues, is totally self-funding and relies on sponsorship and find raising events.
If you would like to sponsor the team to go to Sweden contact Peter Cadwaller on 07957 249143 or Dave Gilmour 07939 523920.
