A RIDER was rescued from moorland above Bury after she was thrown from her horse.
The 26-year-old woman was riding through Cheesden Brook, near to Ashworth Valley, on Saturday afternoon (Feb 7) when she fell and suffered suspected spinal injuries.
Members of the Rossendale Mountain Rescue Team assisted paramedics in evacuating the casualty from the moorland. She was carried for nearly a mile on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance and then taken to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment.
