POLICE are appealing for information after a 12-year-old schoolgirl went missing from home.
Jade Fairbrother, of Barnes Street, in Clayton-le-Moors, left home for Hollins High School on Thursday, February 5. She has not been seen since.
The schoolgirl has gone missing before but never for so long. Police officers believe she may be with a boyfriend in Blackburn.
Inspector Jim Ellis, of Blackburn Police, said: "Although Jade has been missing from home before, she has never been away for this length of time. There is no apparent reason as to why she has gone missing. We believe she may have a teenage boyfriend called Martin who she met somewhere in Blackburn. There is a chance she hangs around with the goths in the town centre.
"Jade's mother is extremely worried and just wants to know she is safe and well."
Jade is about 5ft 5ins tall, has hazel eyes and dark brown, collar-length curly hair. She was wearing her school uniform, a black jumper with the Hollins logo and a white polo shirt, black trousers and black Rockport boots.
Anybody with information should contact police on 01254 51212.
