MORE than 1,800 pints were downed at the Black Horse Winter Beer Festival -- but the fun was all for a good cause.
As the festival, held last month at the Redearth Road pub, raised more than £750 for Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley.
The money was collected by George and June Tracy, two locals with great enthusiasm for fundraising. The couple ran the highest darts competition and raffle.
Other games also took place during the festival, which attracted brewers from across the country, and raised £160 for Darwen Lions.
Organiser Barry Tyson said: "It was a great total to raise for a very worthwhile cause."
