A 29-year-old man is to appear in crown court next week in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in Radcliffe.
Jason Durkin, of Moss Row, Bury, appeared before Bury magistrates on Monday charged with unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause James Turk grievous bodily harm.
Durkin was remanded in custody to appear for a plea and directions hearing at Bolton Crown Court on February 17.
Mr Turk (19) remains in a "critical but stable" condition at Wythenshawe Hospital intensive care unit following the incident near Radcliffe Library, Stand Lane, last Friday night.
He suffered a single stab wound which punctured a lung and caused severe internal bleeding, following a street disturbance around 11.30pm.
Police sealed off a car park and the main road junction with Irwell Street so officers could conduct a forensic search.
