ON a pitch more suited to snorkelling than rugby, Leigh East U12s suffered from their three week break due to bad weather by not getting into the game until the second half.
Westhoughton came out strongly and were 14 points up at half time. East rallied in the second half with some good defence and strong running but had left themselves too much to do.
Daniel Gunning scored a try for East late in the second half but it was too little too late. A special mention has to go to Lloyd Jolley for earning the man of the match award in his first game for the East.
