AN EXHIBITION is set to showcase the talents of Rossendale-born photographer Chris Speake.
Chris' work shows his love of the Pennine landscape shown in dramatic weather conditions that highlight the contours of the land.
He has been a member of the Royal Photographic Society since 1979 and an Associate member since 1982.
He said: "I have always had a love for landscape and for many years have walked the Pennine fells with my cameras, gathering together a sizeable collection of images, of which a selection of 40 are shown at Towneley Hall.
"The most important element in my photography is light, which I use to evoke the spirit of a location. Another dominant feature that runs through the images is the use of dramatic weather conditions, which create mood and atmosphere.
"In my opinion the Pennine region is vastly under-rated as a place of natural beauty. It has a flavour of its own with its towns and villages of millstone grit set amongst rolling fells. I hope these images have captured the beauty and drama of our Pennine heritage."
Councillor Barry Guttridge Burnley Council's Executive member for leisure, said: "Chris has photographed some of my favourite places in winter, when they are at possibly their bleakest, but also most beautiful."
The exhibition will be on display at Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum from Monday to Thursday, 10am-5pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon-5pm. The museum is closed on Fridays.
