IN reply to Mr D Williams' letter (LET, January 30) in which he posed the question "aren't Lodgeside Community Association involved with a conservation and wildlife group in the area?"
If by "involved" Mr Williams is asking whether the same people run both groups, then the answer is no.
Newrad Conservation and Wildlife do have some members who used to be members of Lodgeside in the past, perhaps this is where the confusion arose.
Mr Williams appeared to assume that the same people ran both groups and that the field was going to be replaced with Tarmac and that this was a bit hypocritical of the conservation group.
However, we are two separate groups with different members and committees.
Yes, both groups work in the same area, along with Whitehall Park Supporters Group and Newrad Fisheries Club (which some of our members are involved with).
Whilst all the groups have different aims and structures, we hope we share a common objective, which is to improve the surroundings in which we all live.
Newrad Conservation and Wildlife asked BwDBC for more details about the application, due to concerns raised by our members.
These concerns were addressed and reassurance was given in relation to these concerns.
If anyone would like to discuss anything relating to Newrad Conservation and Wildlife's activities and projects we can be contacted at newradcw@btopenworld.com
