A NEW club night is throwing open its doors on Saturday - promising to deliver 100 per cent Northern Soul.
Doug Leece who has been playing soul music since DJ-ing at Wigan Casino, is teaming up with local DJ Steve Middlesbrough for the event in Morecambe's Royal King's Arms pub.
Doug and Steve run the successful Sold on Soul at the Gregson in Lancaster, which has just celebrated its first anniversary.
To compliment this event, the duo are to blast off on the top floor of the Morecambe pub.
Doug told Citizen Leisure: "As soon as I saw this beautiful room with its sprung wooden dance floor I knew we had to put something on here.
"We have called the night Soul AM - the Northern Soul Sessions and we hope it will attract soul fans from all over the North West."
Plans are afoot to stage three soul nights over the next year.
Kicking off this first gig is guest DJ Russ Winstanley, who was co-founder of Wigan Casino, along with Steve, Doug and DJ Tony Crookes from Morecambe
Tickets cost £4 at the door, and the event runs from 9pm to 2am.
