A NEW figure has been appointed to raise Lancaster University's profile both nationally and around the globe.
Professor Cary Cooper is the new pro-vice chancellor for external relations at Bailrigg.
He first joined the university's management school in October as professor of organisational psychology and health.
As well as maintaining his academic work and being a member of the senior management team, Prof Cooper will help raise the profile of Lancaster's research and teaching.
He says: "It's great to be associated with a university which is in the top 10 for research and one of the top management schools in the world and I want to make sure that this excellence becomes better known.
"I will be carrying on my international research while working to raise the local, national and international profile of Lancaster."
Among his achievements, Prof Cooper is president of the British Academy of Management, a companion of the British Institute of Management and one of three UK Fellows of the American Academy of Management
He also been an advisor to the World Health Organisation.
