FANS' favourite Paul Haddow has left Giant Axe again - only weeks after joining Lancaster City for his second spell.
The midfielder, who was a virtual ever-present in the team under Tony Hesketh, followed his mentor to Southport at the end of last season.
Now, after returning to the club before Christmas, he has been released and is to join Hesketh again in his new role at Kendal Town.
His replacement in Phil Wilson's emerging team is Martin Clark, a 33-year-old defender or midfielder who is another 'Axe' old boy.
Clark spent three seasons with City in the early 1990s before moving on to Crewe Alexandra and Rotherham Utd among others - his last club was Burscough.
o CITY has put up 'house full' signs for the Sportsman's Dinner to be held at the Dolly Blue Tavern on March 1. Commercial manager Les Taylor says another 60 tickets could easily have been sold - though there are tickets left for the St Valentine's Cabaret and Dance this Saturday in the tavern.
