Craig Burley completed his first 90 minutes of footballing action since arriving at North End last night.
The Scottish international, signed by Craig Brown on a short-term deal, is believed to have been struggling with match fitness since arriving at Deepdale.
This is because he has not seen any action since before Christmas, after crisis club Dundee terminated his contract.
It was a good night all round for Preston - winning the reserve tie with Huddersfield Town 4-2 at Bamber Bridge's Irongate ground.
Simon Lynch, who returned from his loan to Stockport at the start of the week, made the scoresheet along with Alan McCormack, Michael Brown and Pawel Abbott.
