Just hours after scoring against them playing for North End's reserves, Pawell Abbott has joined third division Huddersfield Town on a month's loan.
The Polish youth international striker has been drafted in to replace Jon Stead, who signed for £1million for Blackburn Rovers last week and has scored twice in his first two games for the Ewood outfit.
Abbott will stay with Huddersfield for a month and hopes to see regular first team action, something he has struggled to get at North End, finding himself behind Ricardo Fuller, Richard Cresswell, David Healy and George Koumantarakis in the pecking order.
He leaves Deepdale for his short break a week after fellow young striker Simon Lynch returned from a spell at Stockport County.
North End have one other striker away on loan. Joe O'Neill is spending the season at Bury.
