ON Tuesday morning (January 27) we received a notice to say that our water would be cut off the following day from 8am until 5.45pm. But later that afternoon the water was suddenly switched-off before we had chance to store any.
Many of the people around here are elderly or disabled and, despite saying they would complete the job in two hours, United Utilities failed to keep their promise. It was only when we contacted Councillor Roy Walker at 8am on the Wednesday that water supplies were restored. He was brilliant.
