CHORLEY Lynx play their second group game in the Arriva Trains Cup tomorrow when they entertain Barrow Raiders at Victory Park (3pm).
Last weekend Lynx progressed smoothly into the fourth round of the Powergen Challenge Cup after easily defeating Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow 54-6.
Lynx overcame a shaky start, which saw them go behind in the tenth minute, to totally dominate the match, running in seven tries in the second half. Star of the show was Chris Newall with a hat-trick of tries, but Brian Capewell contributed 18 points with seven goals and a try.
On the down side was the loss of star man Rob Smyth with ankle ligament damage. He will be out for up to three weeks.
Also missing with ankle ligament problems is Danny Barton, while Lee Rowley is still recovering from a broken ankle.
Barrow have made a poor start to the campaign, losing their opening group game to local rivals Whitehaven. Last Sunday they also bowed out of the Challenge Cup, losing at home to French side Pia 22-20 after being 16-4 down at half time.
Their squad has been further decimated with Stuart Dance and Chris Archer, both picking up injuries against the French side and will miss this weekend's game. Also missing will be James King, who tore a hamstring in training, but coach Peter Roe is hoping to sign Cook Islander Tama Wakelin who has impressed in training.
