ON last Tuesday's Health Page we featured a story saying that one in five patients did not attend outpatient appointments at the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The figures in the article referred to appointments in the paediatric departments at hospitals in Blackburn and Burnley -- where 2,933 out of 15,560 people did not attend appointments between April 1 and December 31.
Figures for non attendance for the Trust as a whole have now been released for the same time scale.
There were 324,534 appointments with 35, 800 non attendances which equates to around one in ten patients not attending.
Patients are once again urged to contact the hospitals if they are unable to attend appointments.
