CHRISTIE'S against Cancer is mounting a major new fundraising and awareness campaign to boost funds that will help to treat the region's cancer patients.
The Be a Local Hero campaign demonstrates that everyone's donation makes them a "local hero" as they are helping to give cancer sufferers more time with the people they care about.
Toni Leden from Christie's against Cancer said: "There are thousands of people that raise money for the Christie Hospital in many different ways and they all make a huge contribution to its success.
"We want to focus on that, celebrate the work they are doing and urge more people to do the same.
"The campaign features ordinary people who turn into super heroes when they set out to raise funds for Christie's.
"We want to encourage even more 'local heroes' and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in fundraising during 2004."
The campaign will run during March and into the beginning of April.
