A SECURITY guard was assaulted with a shotgun during a raid at a supermarket in Bury.
Four masked man stopped the guard as he got out of a transit van which had pulled up outside Asda in Pilsworth Road at about 2pm on Monday.
One of the robbers hit the guard with the shotgun and ordered him to hand over the cash box.
The men escaped with a quantity of money.
The guard was treated for minor injuries by paramedics.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery to contact them on 0161 856 8150.
