POLICE are investigating the theft of a HGV, including a trailer containing a print roll machine, worth more than £150,000.
The lorry, belonging to Smith's Haulage of Bury, was stolen on Wednesday night (Feb 11) from the company depot off Roach Bank Road at Pilsworth.
The trailer had been specially adapted by being shortened. It has three wheels on each side and had a large number 12 on the front and back.
Detective Inspector Simon Collier said: "This machinery is vital to the company. Although its value is high, it is worthless to anyone else other than the owner.
"The Volvo vehicle is well known to hauliers because of its Smiths insignia and its immaculate condition for its age. I would appeal to anyone who has knowledge of the theft, or the whereabouts of the vehicle and its load, to contact the police."
Anyone with information should call CID at Whitefield 0161 856 8248 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
