REGARDING the new bus swipe cards pass (LET, January 31), with the old paper pass the driver just 'eyeballs' the photo to verify the passenger and photo match.
With the swipe card he will still have to 'eyeball' but with additional functions -- card to hand, 'eyeball,' card to machine, card back to hand. Now that takes longer than just an 'eyeball.'
So either the council chiefs who state the swipe cards will make boarding quicker have concluded the general public are just plain stupid, or they are.
