THE word 'pirate' conjures up masculine images of Blackbeard and Captain Hook to most minds.
Not, perhaps, Jacquotte Delahaye or Anne Dieu-le-veut...
So there should be a few surprises in store when Brian Halliwell ventures out to the Caribbean of the 16th century to talk about the life and times of women pirates at Leigh Local History Society's meeting which starts at 7.30pm next Wednesday in the Derby Room at Leigh Library. Non-members are welcome.
