HUNDREDS of fans queued for hours to take a glimpse of what is currently the most famous trophy in England.
The Rugby World Cup arrived at Bury's Sedgley Park Rugby Union Club this week as part of nationwide tour allowing sports fans to admire the trophy in its glass box. Men, women and children queued patiently to see the trophy, which England have for the next four years until the next Rugby World Cup.
Millions of fans watched around the world as Jonny Wilkinson kicked England to glory in Sydney in November and captain Martin Johnson lifted the Webb Ellis trophy.
The trophy is the first major England trophy since captain Bobby Moore lifted the 1966 football world cup at Wembley.
