VOLUNTEERS and community groups will get a pat on the back at a special 'thank you' celebration on Wednesday, Feb 25 at the Formby Hall in Atherton.
The 6pm-8pm event will give volunteers, community and voluntary organisations and funders the chance to get together and celebrate what they have achieved in the Atherton area.
Information will be available about organisations operating in the area and it offers an opportunity to find out more about sources of support and funding for community and voluntary groups.
Atherton Township Co-ordinator Lynn Kay said: "The event will allow community groups to get some ideas about other organisations and projects they could get involved in, and also learn about funding and other support.
"The Big Thank You is about celebrating the good things communities do and to encourage others to get involved and make a real difference to
the place where they live."
