FAMILIES in East Lancashire are being asked to clear out their cupboards and turn items into cash in aid of the National Childbirth Trust.

The East Lancashire branch of the NCT is holding a nearly new sale of quality, used nursery goods on Saturday, March 27 at the United Reform Church, Moor Lane,

Clitheroe.

Items wanted for sale include children's clothing, books and toys to larger nursery items like pushchairs and travel cots.

Anyone wishing to sell items should register now for a sellers information pack. Sellers will receive 70 per cent of the price of the goods sold, with 30 per cent going to the NCT. All monies raised will go towards the training of local volunteers in breast feeding and post-natal support and the running of ante-natal classes.

Gill Fourie, spokeswoman for the NCT, said: "The sale builds on the growing success of previous events - last year we raised over £2,000 in just an hour, with close to £700 going towards the services we provide locally."
