NEW YORK, Ibiza, London and now Ribchester. The Ribble Valley village may not sound like the obvious venue for an appearance by a DJ duo who command dancefloors around the world - but it's exactly the place The Slammin Boys are heading for next month.

They've been confirmed as one of the headline acts at Funktion's first Peek-a-Boo event of 2004, taking place at De Tabley in Ribchester on Saturday, March 13.

De Tabley became a popular summer hangout for clubbers when Preston event Feel started going there for years ago, but last year Chorley lads Clee Beevers and Jodie Finch, behind the successful Funktion brand, arranged several events there.

Following on from the success of their last bash their, on Boxing Day, and the August Bank Holiday bonanza , Funktion has announced plans for six exclusive events leading up to the big Bank Holiday do.

The other name on the flyer is Farley Jackmaster Funk, one of the pioneers of the House music scene in America in the 1980s.

His cover of Isaac Hayes' 'Love Can't Turn Around' is said to be the first House track to make the charts, entering the UK Top 10 in 1986.

He too has made a name for himself the world over since - and counts UK clubs as his favourite in the world.

Local talent will also shine through on March 13, with Jodie Finch playing a set of House tunes as well.

Also on the bill are local lads Matt Pinner and Dave Dalton.

The night runs from 9pm-3am (tickets £15). Details on 01257 411741. Tickets are available from V2 Clothing in Blackburn, and Reef Clothing. In Chorley, Townsend Records and Lance Menswear have them for sale. You can catch Funktion every Thursday night at Revolution in Preston where, incidentally, the pre bar event will be on the night.

Kelly knows it's for real

AFTER scooping their first number one with LMC's 'Take Me To The Clouds Above,' All Around The World Records returns to chart action next week with the release of latest offering from Kelly Llorenna (above).

Despite a quiet 2003 single-wise, Kelly - who provided the locals for N-Trance's legendary 'Set You Free' track - has recorded a cover of the Donna Summer song 'This Time I Know It's For Real.'

It's been out in the clubs for quite a while and is already doing the business in the music TV charts, just as a certain track did before going to number one.

If it goes Top 10, it will Kelly's ninth single to make it there, and she has sold more than two million singles to date - not to mention winning 'Dance Recording Artist of The Year' at the Disco International Awards.

A cover of Taylor Dayne's classic 'Tell It To My Heart' was her last hit with Blackburn-based AATW, and hopes are high she'll do well in the charts a week on Sunday.

OLD skool fans should make a bee-line for Ignite nightclub in Burnley next Thursday night when Rozalla will be appearing live.

The singer behind the 1992 hit 'Everybody's Free' has been scooped by the Hammerton Street club for their Old Skool night.

The night runs from 10pm-2am with selected drinks just £1.70 before midnight. Well worth checking out. DJs for the night are the Trick Babies, from Manchester's Galaxy Radio.
