ARMED raiders fled empty-handed when staff at a floor company stood their ground.
Two hooded men carrying a hammer and a baton burst into the Floors 2 Go sales showroom in Bolton Street, Bury, and demanded staff open the till.
When they refused, the thugs attacked the print and till display unit but ran off when one a staff member lunged at them.
The raiders were white, in their late teens or early 20s, 6ft tall and slim. One wore a white hooded top and his accomplice, who had a silver filling in his front tooth, was wearing a black hooded top.
The attempted robbery happened at 3.40pm on Saturday (Feb 14). Witnesses are urged to contact Bury Robbery Unit on 0161 856 8093.
