GRAEME Souness is urging his players to keep up their momentum and secure Premiership safety.
The Blackburn Rovers boss issued his call ahead of tomorrow's clash with Charlton Athletic at the Valley, as he looks to build on the form that has yielded four points from the last two games.
The 3-2 defeat to Chelsea at the start of the month has been followed by a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough and 1-1 draw with Newcastle 10 days ago.
"We have to keep that momentum going so we can get to the end of the season and not be under pressure," said Souness. "We need to be dogged and determined not to lose, that's the way it has to be.
"The gap between games has been frustrating because I think we played well against Newcastle and we need to get out there and get it going again on Saturday."
Despite Rovers' impressive recent away performances, that has brought just one defeat in six Premiership games, Souness knows the Champions League chasers from Charlton will be stiff opposition.
He said: "It's a very difficult game for us because they are in a losing run so will be doubly determined to break that.
"But they've had a good season up until three games ago and they have a good home record.
"I think the whole league outside the top three of Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea is much of a muchness. Anyone can beat anyone.
"So they haven't surprised me because Charlton have players of Premiership experience.
"As for the away form, you can look at it in the context that we've been poor at home. Last year we were good away and we were good at home as well.
"But our home form has killed us this year."
Blackburn's Australians are both doubtful for the game as Brett Emerton was kept out of his country's midweek trip to Venezuela with a twisted ankle.
However, if he had travelled he would now be in a similar situation to Lucas Neill, who made the trip to South America for the friendly.
He will travel with the squad to London but could be doubtful to start as he recovers from the gruelling journey.
"It's not great as far as the club is concerned but there's nothing we can do about it," said Souness.
Craig Short is back in the squad after missing the Newcastle game with back spasms but Matt Jansen will be rested after a midweek injury scare.
The striker was knocked unconscious in a clash of heads during the reserves' game against Manchester City on Wednesday, but he's made a full recovery and will return to training on Monday.
