LIVERPOOL-based ICI announced the construction of a 'secret' factory to be built somewhere in Lancashire.
The factory was to produce 1,500 tonnes of titanium, the 'wonder metal' used in plane construction, every year.
Joseph Lucas Ltd gave £1,250 to Burnley Municipal College to equip a laboratory for the teaching of electronics and instrumentation to advanced students.
