Arthur Gnohere is set for a TV debut tonight after a mystery fan funded his signing from Burnley.

The Clarets defender has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Hoops following the generosity of a supporter, who came to Rangers aid when a deal looked like hitting the rocks.

And delighted Gnohere could now make his bow against Peterborough in front of the Sky cameras.

The Frenchman, who had a spell on loan at Loftus Road earlier this season, said: "I'm happy to be back because this is a massive club.

" I had a great time here before and now I want to help the club get promotion."

Clarets boss Stan Ternent revealed no initial fee was involved for the 25-year-old, although payments will be made dependent on appearances and Rangers progress.

Ternent added: "The opportunity presented itself for Arthur to go back to QPR on a permanent basis and it's good for him because he gets regular first team football, which he wasn't here.

"But it's also good for Burnley Football Club in that he is off the wage bill and it may allow me to maybe bring someone in on loan. So it's good for everyone and it was the right thing to do."

Rangers chief executive, David Davies, explained: "The funds for this deal have been provided by a fan and without his involvement it would not have taken place.

"I cannot stress enough how grateful everyone at the club is for this remarkable act of generosity."
