ROLY POLY Mo Moreland was centrestage yesterday (Wednesday) to officially open a new Blackpool community centre.
The cuddly dancer opened Central Drive Community Association's new base at Ibbison House, Ibbison Court off Central Drive.
The centre has offices and a meeting room, and will host regular surgeries for residents to meet with representatives of the Pensions Service, Blackpool Care and Repair and Welfare Rights amongst others.
The centre is a joint venture between Central Drive Community Association and Blackpool Borough Council's Community Development Unit.
"Mo Moreland has numerous friends in central Blackpool having spent many hours in her earlier career entertaining in the area," said a council spokeswoman.
Councillor Ivan Taylor, whose council responsibilities include community development, added: "This is a fantastic achievement at an exciting time for people living in central Blackpool.
"Large scale regeneration is planned and we are working with local people so that they can take a leading role to improve their neighbourhoods."
