RICHARD Chaplow has vowed to keep his feet on the ground after being brought back to earth with a bump.

The Burnley midfielder swaps the dizzy heights of England for a relegation scrap tomorrow as the Clarets look to extend a four-game unbeaten league run at home to Ipswich.

And Chaplow, 19, insists he is ready for the fight ahead of Stan Ternent's men.

He said: "Playing for England has definitely been the highlight of my career, but the gaffer here has been warning me to keep my feet on the ground.

"I've done that so far though and I don't see why I can't keep doing it. I just have to keep going and doing what I have been doing and hopefully there will be more games for Burnley and more England caps."

Chaplow has been an ever present in the Clarets squad this season in his first full season as a professional.

And he scoffs at the idea of needing a break to recharge the batteries.

He added: "Obviously it's been a pretty rapid rise, but I don't need a rest. I'm a fit young lad, so I will just keep battling on and hopefully not miss a game.

"I have been involved in every one so far, so if I can keep free of injury I should be all right.

"The aim now has to be to keep getting in the box and scoring goals. I've only got three, which is a bit disappointing, but I think there is plenty more to come from me."

Ternent has no fresh injury worries for the visit of the Tractor Boys, with just Graham Branch missing through a calf strain.

And the Clarets chief admits his biggest problem was lifting flagging spirits following last weekend's FA Cup exit at Millwall.

Ternent said: "The players were a bit flat on Monday, but since then they have been fantastic and trained really hard.

"It's important we bounce back really quickly because I don't want a repeat of what happened last season when we went out of the cup.

"What I have seen this week has been excellent, so I think they are going to be fine."

Burnley go gunning for revenge after the humiliating 6-1 defeat at Portman Road back in October, when Ternent's resources were stretched to breaking point through injury and illness.

And he is confident his side can turn the tables and drive the Tractor Boys off the road to the Premiership.

He added: "We need to get up the league and it's a big match against Ipswich, who need points to maintain their promotion challenge.

"I don't want to hark back to what happened earlier this season, because we were a bit depleted on the night.

"But you can't take anything away from Ipswich - they played very well and five of the goals were in the first half. "

Meanwhile, Burnley have lost their appeal over Paul Weller's red card for violent conduct at Millwall last week.

The Clarets midfielder will now start a three-match ban back at the New Den next weekend.
