THERE was no shortage of goals in the Leigh and District League when the second round of the Carl Brown Memorial Trophy got underway.
Atherton Royal got the better of Leigh Legion by 6-3 with goals from Houghton (2), Skimington, Neil, Smith and Barrington. Rothwell (2) and Hindley replied for the Legion.
Three Crowns Reserves snatched a narrow 5-4 win over Rope and Anchor with a hat-trick from Heyes and two more by Ogidi. Rope's goals came from McPike (2), Helme and Cathcart.
Kersal Vale hammered Foundry 8-0 with hat-tricks from Cooney and Smith and others from Renshaw and Hill. In the only other tie, AFC Tyldesley beat New Inn Rangers 3-1.
