A NEW soccer coaching school - the Football Academy - is recruiting new players.
The brainchild of Neil Hogg, the Football Academy is centred on Tyldesley and Astley and caters for players aged under 8, 10 and 11.
"The club was born six months ago when, as I spoke to parents, it became evident that although we had a few teams in our area, the chances for children to join a club and actually get a game, were slim;" says Neil.
"Initially we are concentrating on U8s, 10s and 11s. We aim to make it a fun environment to train in and aim to create a shop window for our players to be noticed by our local professional teams by organising visits for scouts and representatives to attend.
"We have two hour coaching sessions on Monday evenings with games played on Sunday mornings."
The Academy has gained sposorship from Wakefields Estates in Tyldesley and ESB Motorcycles, Leigh.
