THE figures given by Blackburn with Darwen Council regarding the continued poor performance by Capita in handling housing benefit claims (LET January 30), reveal a staggering situation for the eight per cent of claims not reported.
This means that eight per cent of all claims average 172 days delay each.
You were right in your editorial to advise caution. These delays are now so bad that they are worthy of a visit from the National Audit Office.
