CRIME prevention bosses in Ribble Valley are appealing to Langho parents to join a liaison group aimed at boosting recreational facilities for their youngsters.
Members of the Ribble Valley Crime and Disorder Prevention Partnership, which is spearheaded by Ribble Valley Council, attended a meeting of concerned Langho residents. There had been complaints that youngsters were playing football and causing a nuisance in the car park of St Mary's Church in the village.
Parents, youth workers, parish councillors, borough councillors, church leaders, concerned residents and the police attended the meeting in St Mary' s Church Hall.
Residents claim youngsters are making a racket and being a nuisance, but the youngsters claim they have nowhere to play.
Ribble Valley Council policy development officer Bill Alker said: "It was a very positive meeting and there were some constructive comments."
About 30 people attended the meeting and anyone who wants to get involved in the liaison group is asked to contact John Foley on 01254 247371.
