A POLICEMAN was kicked after he and other officers went to a Bury nightclub from which two women had been ejected, a court was told.
Cabrini Louise Banks and Victoria Knight had been enjoying a birthday celebration in Silber Street, Bury, when fighting started, Bury magistrates were told.
Mrs Morris said that during the commotion Knight kicked a policeman on the knee and shin.
Banks, aged 21, of Chesham Crescent, Bury, and Knight, aged 20, of Walmersley Road, Bury, admitted public disorder, and Knight admitted assaulting Pc Paul Beaver in the execution of his duty.
Banks was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and Knight was given an 18-hour attendance centre order.
with £43 court costs, for 18 hours. Magistrates waived costs and an application for compensation in her case.
Anna Morris, prosecuting, said the women were shouting and swearing at bouncers and were told to calm down by the police. One of the two women launched a punch at a member of the door staff and was handcuffed and the other who continued to shout and swear was also arrested. Both of them continued shout, swear and bang on the police vehicle all the way to the police station.
