BRITAIN'S most generous businessman, Ultraframe founder John Lancaster, has donated a further £3.24million to his charitable foundation which supports charities in both his home town of Clitheroe and Africa.
In April last year, he was named the UK's biggest corporate benefactor after giving away £6.5million of his estimated £50million wealth.
"I'm thrilled and more than happy to be named the most generous man in Britain!" he said at the time.
Mr Lancaster retired from Ultraframe at Christmas 2002 and, together with his wife, now devotes his time to helping others.
"Rosemary and I started our registered charity in Clitheroe from finance raised from the sale of our shares in Ultraframe, enabling us to make major capital donations to charities," he added.
"The charity's a major part of our lives and we take an active role in visiting and encouraging most projects we support."
Mr Lancaster is still the largest single shareholder in Ultraframe which employs around 700 people in Clitheroe.
