PADIHAM'S defeat signalled the end of Graham Haworth's reign as manager after seven and a half years.
With only one win from their last nine league outings, Saturday's home humiliation at the hands of bottom club Castleton Gabriels proved too much for Haworth, who informed Padiham chairman Michael Muldoon of his decision short after the game.
Padiham were 4-0 down at half-time and although they restored some pride courtesy of two James Gill goals, Castleton still managed to add another to their total to condemn Padiham to a miserable afternoon in more ways than one.
Applicants for the position of Padiham first team manager are requested to write to secretary Alan Smith at 242 Burnley Road, Padiham, BB12 8SS.
