A FORMER 'drunk' who became a born-again Christian is returning to Darwen to launch a religious course.
Dave Shores gave a talk in Darwen earlier this month about his experiences since giving up a lifestyle of drink and mohican haircuts 20 years ago.
Dave and colleague Glenn Fox, known as 'the drunk and the punk', packed out Darwen Leisure Centre with their colourful tales.
Now Dave, 41, is returning to Darwen to run an 'alpha' course giving people an introduction to the Christian way of life.
The course has been organised by the Newfrontier Community Church, based at Tower View Centre, Marsh House Lane.
The church meets every Sunday for services.
A church spokesman said: "The meeting that we had originally was explaining what had happened in Dave's life. Dave is now saying, this is what Christianity is."
The alpha course is an international scheme aimed at introducing religion to young people.
