A Fashion boutique owner is a real inspiration after reaching the finals of national award.
Kiran Mehnaz and mum Sheanaz Khan set up their business in June 2003 selling ready-made clothes, fabric, made-to-measure garments and accessories. Kiran was selected as a finalist for the Natwest Every Woman Awards in the 'Artemis Category'.
The awards go to the most inspirational woman running a business aged up to 21 and Kiran was invited to join other finalists at a luncheon in London hosted by the Rt Hon Dawn Primarolo MP.
The store is based on Colne Road, Burnley and received support through the Women into Business project which provided specialist business support, helping them to develop their knowledge and skills. This helped the ladies get off to a flying start.
Kiran told us, "I would like to thank my mum for her continued support."
