Aldershot 2 Leigh RMI 0 by David Magilton: LEIGH manager Phil Starbuck says he cannot believe the dreadful luck that seems to dog his relegation-threatened side.
RMI have been on the end of a series of poor refereeing decisions that have cost them valuable points and Starbuck says he was dumbfounded again on Saturday at the dismissal of his assistant Steve Redmond on the stroke of half-time.
"The referee said he booked Redmond for pointing at the linesman," complained Starbuck. "The referee called it dissent by action. I have never known anything like it. I just had to laugh because otherwise I would have screamed at the way our season has gone. People will say it is sour grapes but it is not.
"We got off to a bad start by conceding a goal in the first minute, but after that we dominated and Mario Daniel missed two one on one situations with the keeper and Steve Brodie missed a chance.
"I can not fault the lads, they were magnificent. They played really well but we could not score. We will not be downhearted, however, as we have to keep going."
Tamworth beat relegation rivals Farnborough Town, which leaves RMI 10 points adrift from safety, with the Lambs having a game in hand.
Roscoe D'Sane's double kept Aldershot firmly on course for a play-off spot. The home side took the lead with less than a minute on the clock, when John Nutter's corner was headed back across goal by Adam Miller, and D'Sane was perfectly placed to drill the ball home.
He wrapped up the points six minutes from time.
