I WOULD like to commend Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council for the vast improvements that are taking place in Corporation Park. The views that are being opened up are stunning, giving an ever-increasing idea of what the Park looked like at its inception.
The safety aspect of clearing the overgrown bushes is becoming more apparent as the work is being completed in several areas of the Park. Places that were 'no go' areas are now open to be used by everyone.
Young children and families are being encouraged to use the Park more because of the improved equipment in their play area, and the picnic tables nearby.
The Play Scheme during the last two summer school holidays has also helped to make Corporation Park a place for families to enjoy.
Additional planned changes to restore the park and create the opportunity to make it attractive and useable for our changing society are also highly commendable.
As residents who live near the Park and use it every day, it has been thrilling to watch all the workers doing such a brilliant job of restoring a wonderful asset to the town of Blackburn.
JUDY SMITH (Mrs), Langham Road, Blackburn.
