IT was feared that almost 800 jobs would be lost and council tax bills would rocket by up to 20 per cent following a £33 million cut in Lancashire County Council's budget.
Education took the brunt of the cuts losing £12.8 million, social services lost £3.7 million and there was £2 million less for highways and transport.
Meanwhile plans were unveiled to build a £25,000 sports barn at Bowley scout camp in Great Harwood to act as an emergency weather shelter and sports hall.
