STAN Ternent admitted he was frustrated and disappointed after an injury time equaliser robbed Burnley of a deserved win at Reading.
The Clarets came from behind to lead through goals from Ian Moore and David May before James Harper struck three minutes into stoppage time to steal a point.
And Ternent was left looking for positives after seeing his side cruelly denied at the death.
The Burnley manager said: "We still haven't lost in the league this year and all credit to that goes to the players. There's always an up-side and this is a good point, although a win away from home would be lovely.
"It's one more point towards out target of 50 points and another four wins should get us there, but I think when you look at Reading and see that a win would have taken them fourth, while we are struggling, it just goes to show you that we are close to being a very good side.
"The only problem we have is injuries and suspensions and maybe I should try to understand that a bit better because the players have done fantastically well to be where they are in the division.
"But my nature being what it is, I think Burnley are the best team in the world, and I think we should have won the game."
Burnley overcame the disaster of conceding a calamitous opening goal to take charge of clash with their play-off chasing hosts before that late equaliser.
But Ternent promised to lift his troops for Saturday's trip to Millwall, where the Clarets will try to wipe out the memory of their FA Cup fifth round defeat under a fortnight ago.
He added: "The first goal was a poor goal to give away and the one right at the end makes it very frustrating and difficult to stomach because I felt the side did more than enough to take three points.
"It's not like a defeat because we haven't lost. But it's very disappointing. When it comes that late in the game, it's always tougher to take.
"I suppose we just have to take our medicine, regroup and see if we can do better at Millwall than we did a couple of weeks ago."
Ternent could yet be hampered by a midfield crisis for Saturday's game after Richard Chaplow limped out of last night's action with a thigh injury.
Tony Grant and Paul Weller are already suspended for the clash at the New Den, leaving the Clarets sweating on the fitness of both Chaplow and Neil Wood, who also missed the Reading game with knee trouble.
Ternent revealed: "Richard took a knock high up on his thigh and it (the substitution) was a precautionary one. I'll have to see how he is because I could do with him Saturday because we are a bit thin on the ground."
Burnley Reserves are back in Pontins Premier League action at Turf Moor tonight, when Tranmere are the visitors (KO 7pm).
