A HAT-TRICK of tries from second rower Ryan O'Toole was the highlight of a match that saw Leigh East U12s defeat Grappenhall 44-14.
East signalled their intent in the first minute, Gunning scoring the first of his brace. More tries followed from Leonard, O'Toole (2), Gunning and Crook before a momentary lapse in defence allowed the Giants in for their only try of the first half.
The second half was much the same as the first with three more tries for the east by Johnson, Crook and O'Toole. East didn't have it all their own way with Grappenhall scoring twice in the second period. Man of the match was awarded to heard working front rower Steven Keegan.
