I READ with interest the articles about speeding problems within our community, or, now as it is being worded "Traffic calming measures."
What 'calming' has been done on the Whitebirk to Preston New Road race track? I used to call it a bypass. If anyone stands on the Knowles Arms car park, particularly at weekends, they will be horrified at the noise and acceleration of vehicles from the 'start line' traffic lights.
Most of the culprits have not a care in the world except to race each other to the end as quickly as they can.
I am a keen motor sport enthusiast and have driven some of the most powerful cars around, but never made a nuisance of myself, because by joining a recognised car club, organised events are the order of the day.
So all you potential racing stars think again before you create a big accident.
It would be a great improvement if traffic calming measures would be implemented on this road for the health and safety of us all.
