A MOTORCYCLIST from Leigh was killed early on Thursday after being hit by a stolen car.
The driver of the white Rover 115 fled the scene and is being hunted by police.
Passing motorists called the police after seeing the car collide with a Kawasaki motorbike at around 12.30am at the junction of Beechill Lane and Woodhouse Lane, Wigan.
It is believed there were two people in the Rover and they both ran away without stopping to check the condition of the rider.
The motorcyclist was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary for treatment but died soon after arrival.
The car was stolen from the Chorley area.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident or anyone with information about the stolen car to call 0161 856 7273 or Crimestoppers on free phone 0800 555 111.
